St. Philip Neri Church completes $1.5 million restoration work, holding open houses
Spectrum Lighting helped in the recent 1.5 Million dollar renovation of St Phillip Neri Church Located at 6405 South Orchard Rd in Linthicum Heights MD. Spectrum Lighting was brought in by Warren Sparks of Ambiance Lighting working alongside David Yates, a Lighting Designer from Alban Engineering both located in Maryland. The Church was originally built in 1965 and was still using the original incandescent pendant lighting.
Spectrum Lighting was asked to provide both Cylinders and Monopoint Trackheads that use High CRI Xicato LED Modules and are wirelessly controlled with Bluetooth. Spectrum worked with the lighting designer to supply fixtures with the specific Bluetooth capabilities that were needed for the remodel. Traditionally, a building like this would need multiple wired circuits installed- which would have cost double the price for installation and would limit the amount of control. The end products were highly controllable and able to create specific lighting scenes effortlessly.
Each fixture was separately addressed at the factory and assigned a Node ID number that was used by the Installing Contractor to make sure each fixture was mounted in a pre-determined location.
Once installed Spectrum Lighting sent a representative down to assist the team at St Phillip Neri Church to understand how to address each fixture, assign groups and design specific lighting scenes. Warren Sparks from Ambiance Lighting said “The implementation of the Spectrum/Xicato wireless solution was seamless, the mobile app provided easy access to the system for the end user”.
